Adding to the mix...

Adding to the mix...

My website has been almost exclusively my photography work, of course, for basically the last 17 years. However, one thing those who know me are aware of is that I’ve been a lifelong musician.

Many years ago, I played in bands. I did recording sessions, some small regional touring, and things like that. I play guitar, I play bass, I fool around on keyboards, I do audio production. I actually used to teach audio production, among other things. It’s a passion of mine that I’ve never really stopped pursuing, but for a long time it’s been very casual, "whenever I could get to it."

Well, I made a pivot here in the last quarter of 2026, and I’ve decided that life is short and I want to get back into music.

I’m continuing photography exactly like I always have, but I’m also going to be adding music back into the mix in a much bigger way. At the moment, that probably means I’ll start giving music lessons at some local schools and whatnot, just to get back into things. Maybe I’ll take up some pickup gigs later on. I know plenty of people still in the music scene. But mostly, I’m going to be doing production things that I’ll post online.

I’ve had a music YouTube channel for a couple or three years now, and it has something like 75 subscribers. It’s basically just been there for me to dump guitar videos onto. Now I want to ramp up what I’ve been doing with music and production, whether I’m doing cover song interpretations, lead guitar covers, some kind of cool vocal cover, or whatever else I decide sounds interesting.

I don’t know exactly where all of this is going as I move forward, and that’s kind of the point. But I’m going to ramp up both the production value and how frequently I do music. I want to get back into it full tilt. Maybe I’ll even start offering backing tracks for video productions, stock music people can download and use, or something along those lines.

Basically, I’m embracing my passion for music and infusing it more into everything I offer.

Over the years I’ve done graphic design. I briefly did animation a very long time ago. I’ve done video production, music recording, audio production, guitar, bass, keyboards, and, of course, photography and retouching. I enjoy creating things and I’m going to continue creating things. Music is simply going to be much more actively involved in what I do as a creative moving forward.

It doesn’t make sense, of course, to pretend I can do everything all at once. That’s silly. But why not add to what I do and offer?

Like I said, guys, I’m not 22 anymore. I’m not some geriatric either, but let’s just say life is short. Nothing’s wrong with me, don’t misinterpret that. Life is just short, and it’s time to enjoy the things I enjoy. And if sharing those things with the world might also be beneficial to somebody else, then so be it.

So expect a lot more music stuff from me.

If you’ve been following me even for a couple of years, especially on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen me posting music, guitar videos, and things like that. Now expect a lot more of it. Expect the YouTube channel to get ramped up, and expect more music to start making its way onto this very website.

Photography isn’t going anywhere tho, folks. I’m just making space for another part of what I’ve always done.
