I mean, ok, but...

I mean, ok, but...

Dear friends: I get it. Social media can be confusing depending on how your accounts are set up, how you use them, how much priority you put on my work, and all of that. I woke up today to a pair of emails that made me laugh a little, because they could not have been more opposite.

One person wrote to say they love my work but want a better way to follow it without seeing what they felt was my "constant advertising" of my work. That was a first for me.

The next email said they never see anything from me at all and wondered if I have stopped posting, which is wild because I use my accounts every day.

Both messages told me the same thing. People experience my work in completely different ways online. The algorithm plays its part, even though most people misunderstand how it works, and everyone’s own habits shape what they see even more.

So instead of trying to engineer a perfect master solution for every possible scenario, I just keep doing the work. I post new images, share what I am inspired by, remind people that there is a lot of older work to explore on my website and socials, and keep building the things I care about. There is exclusive content on my site, plenty of photography to look through, and more new work on the way.

I will keep saying what I need to say and keep moving as an artist. Hopefully the people who enjoy what I create keep finding me in whatever way works for them. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to look, follow, support, or even send me strange and contradictory emails first thing in the morning.

Much love...!
