Includes 16 photographic works. When you get to explore a bucket list shoot location *and* you get to it with a really wonderful friend, well, good things emerge.

Behold, Briana Noir on Playa Negra on the (sub)island of Vieques, which is part of Puerto Rico.  As it happens, my family heritage goes back to Vieques, via my mother's side of the family.
And also as it happens, this black sand? It's magnetic. It really is, and that's because it's magnetite that comes from the mountain, via a fresh water tributary than drains into the ocean. This process deposits, then washes away, the powdered magnetite on the beach –– thus, Playa Negra (Black Beach).
Playa Negra is remote, accessible via a reasonably long hiking trail that follows a creek (and crawling, literally, with endless hermit crabs). It’s more of an exploration destination than a typical swim beach, and visitors (now including me) warn about strong currents and non-existent facilities. This was no casual day at the beach, but it was worth every minute on that early morning.  I always wanted to shoot Playa Negra, and thanks to Bri, I now have – and so has she.
